We certainly love our children, but are we paying close attention to the living habits we are teaching them?  Are we seriously concerned about what they eat, drink, breathe, and touch?

It is a fact that the immune system remains strong and disease can’t get in if our pH is balanced. However, if our pH is acidic, our immune system becomes weak, making our bodies vulnerable to illness.  When our kids get sick, it is because of the unhealthy habits and bad choices made.important tips for kids

In order to ensure our kids grow up healthy and strong, paying attention to these health tips and reinforcing them both at home and away from it may be essential:

1.    Make their bodies toxin-free. Our bodies are perfectly capable of healing and cleaning as long as our immune system is healthy.  But with today’s environment toxins, chemicals, and pesticides are unknowingly ingested by our children in the foods they eat, the air they breathe, and the things they touch.  In order to be completely healthy, we have to attack the problem from the source; otherwise, we will be only treating symptoms.  Kids should have regular exercise and keep healthy sleep schedules. They should not be exposed to stress and practice personal hygiene care in order for their immune system to be healthy.

2.    Teach them to eat healthy foods. What we feed our kids determine their health to a great extent.  Healthy food will keep their cells vigorous and their immune system strong; it will energize them and give them all the nutrients they need to be as healthy as they can be.  Sadly, our society has exposed children with the promise of endless fun and excitement through highly processed fast foods that have little to no nutritional value. Teach them that junk foods are loaded with refined sugars and grains, chemicals, additives, and preservatives – all bad for the body.  This junk tastes good, but gives no energy and doesn’t nourish their cells to help them work efficiently.  On the other hand, foods like organic fruits and vegetables, whole grains such as brown rice, millet, buckwheat, and oats, provide many vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

3.    Teach them healthy habits to prevent disease. Our bodies are composed of 80% water that is indispensable to prevent sickness and to heal the body.  Water greatly improves digestion, absorption of nutrients, skin hydration, and cleansing. It is actually the ultimate detox cleanser! In other words, many diseases can be prevented by drinking lots of water like headaches, hypertension, ulcers, morning sickness, back pain, asthma, fatigue, and slow metabolism. These are just some of the aches and illnesses that can be improved or even disappear by keeping the body well hydrated.

By teaching your kids healthy habits, you are making sure their energy and strength remains intact.  These tips work in terms of prevention, so, the earlier you enforce them, the better the quality of life your kids will experience.  Even if it means a drastic change of habit, your kids’ health is worth it.
