What is Dental Implants?

Dental implants are the treatment of choice for replacing one or more missing teeth. Also, they are biocompatible artificial roots that will replace your teeth. They appear like screws or posts embedded in the jaw. Implants are typically made from titanium. They fuse with the jaw bone to become the foundation for the restoration.

As a result, your teeth will have excellent strength and stability. They will look and feel like your natural teeth. The power and function of dental implants come close to natural teeth. Our location for dental implants near you is easy to visit.

Procedure

The dentist surgically places the implant post where the tooth is missing. An implant embedded in the bone ought to gain stability, but this should take some time. After integrating, usually in the few months, the jaw bone will accept them and fuse with it. Once stable, a customized dental crown or fixed bridge is then cemented to the implant.

Dr. Zaveri did an outstanding job on my implant. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend him. Kudos to his staff for their excellent customer service.

Same Day Dental Implants

Patients who opt to receive implants on the same day as their visit will enjoy these benefits:
  • Stability. When installing them, it gains stability through a phenomenon called “osseointegration.” This process creates a pure fusion of the titanium implant with the bone.
  • Aesthetics. They take the place of the roots, and then they are installed with crowns. The result is a prosthetic that appears much like the natural tooth. What you can enjoy is aesthetics that removable dentures will not be able to offer.
  • Function. Implants help restore correct oral functions.
  • Comfort. With stability and function, they prove to offer great comfort to patients.
  • Conservativeness. When you choose to receive same-day teeth implants, you get to save the health of the bone and teeth.
  • Same-day results!

Maintenance

With proper care and a frequent visit to the dentist in upland, your dental implant will last for a long time.
Here are a few tips to consider:
  • Brush and floss thoroughly the area where yours are
  • Rinse your mouth with a mouthwash
  • Schedule 3 times a year visit to your dentist
  • Avoid toothpaste that contains abrasive ingredients like baking soda. Coarse elements can remove the glaze
    on your implants.
  • Observe good oral hygiene.
  • Stop smoking.
  • Schedule regular appointments for dental cleaning and check-up.

How is Same-Day Dental Implant Possible?

With the CEREC technology, you receive your new implants in a single appointment. CEREC, which stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, comes complete with 3D and CAM/CAD technology that allows for indirect ceramic restorations using a computer.

To prepare for the procedure, Dr. Zaveri first takes a photograph of the area to receive them. Then the dentist stores it on the computer as a 3D image. Our software approximates your new restoration by making biogenic comparisons to surrounding teeth. Dr. Zaveri then finalizes the model using 3D and CAD software. After the design phase, CEREC sends the data to a milling machine that fabricates your new teeth. When they are ready, Dr. Zaveri bonds it to your implants using resin cement.

Factors Affecting the Cost of Implants

One downside is that insurance companies don’t always cover the cost of dental implants. If you’re concerned about the cost of dental implants, speak to Dr. Zaveri about your various options. It’s also essential to understand how the factors listed below influence the final cost.

Alternative to dentures

Dental implants make an attractive alternative to removable dentures. Since they are permanent, you care for them just like regular teeth. Things to Consider Before Getting Implants

Here are several considerations in the dental implant process:
  • Materials Used: Dr. Zaveri typically uses titanium for dental implants. Although ceramic may be an option in case of allergies or strong preference. However, titanium costs less
    to manufacture and install.
  • Number of Implants: A patient who only requires replacement of a single tooth will pay less than one who needs to replace all of his or her teeth.
  • Restorations and Abutments. Abutments help to connect your dental bridges, dentures, or crowns to your new implants. If you require one of these restorations, that adds
    to the overall cost.

If you have some questions regarding dental implant complications, you can ask us about it.

Problems that may arise in having dental implants

Infection is the most common complication in any surgical procedure. This condition is called peri-implantitis. Peri-implantitis is the inflammation of the bone and gum tissues around the implant. This can lead to gradual bone loss in the jaw where the implant is embedded.

Another problem is the failure of the implant to fuse with the jaw bone (failed osseointegration) correctly. This condition could result in a loose implant that will eventually lead to falling oust. Reasons as to why osseointegration was unable to happen:

  • Insufficient bone density
  • Damage to surrounding tissues
  • Overloading
  • Fractured implants
  • Wrong implant positioning.

A complication could also happen due to a human-made error. If the dentist is not experienced in performing the dental implant procedure, nerve and tissue damage may occur. When the implant is embedded too close to a nerve, it may cause pain and numbing sensation in the cheek, gums, or lips. The damage could be either temporary or permanent.
